"we don't want people talking on the ride"

I have had probably the best week of my program with the amount of laughs I've had with my friends... it has been nonstop shits and giggles.  Friday night, we headed back to Backbooth in downtown Orlando, for what is probably going to be our weekly 80's night. We pregamed at mine & Emma's with a bit of Roxanne and some drinking games before heading out. Once again it was an amazing night, ended up dancing on the stage and getting asked to leave because the music was off and the staff wanted to head home.... oops!

Saturday was another fun day of work, consisting of my usual toys/kidcot/kidcot/cart... I <3 Saturday shifts... I managed to have a quiet evening on Saturday cause Sunday was always going to be epic...
It was Char's first time at Harry Potter World, so obviously we headed there early so she could get her ticket, then we headed straight to HP world!! I have never seen anybody so excited in my life, she was so cute!! We headed straight to the Forbidden Journey (of course) and decided to do the line so Char could see everything... the wait was 45 minutes, so plenty of time for us to leave our bags in the lockers that were free for 1hr 10mins... that was until we got right next to the Sorting Hat and the ride broke down!! It was down for about 20 minutes before they got it working again, which ment we had to pay to get our bags back, but no biggie!! We then went for lunch and a butterbeer, before heading to Universal where we managed to do the Mummy 5 times in a row, Rip Ride Rockit, the Simpsons and Men In Black. It was awesome!! Char then headed home and I went out at CityWalk for Robin’s birthday with Emma and some of her friends, it was so SO nice to be out with other people and have a different type of night out. Had alot of fun and met some great people.

So after that amazing day off this week has gotten pretty shit. I worked Monday, felt alittle under the weather so had an early night before my 14hr EMH shift on Tuesday, but come Tues morning I felt like shit... I went to work and nearly blacked out on Queens after being on the Cart, I was then sick and had a really bad pain in my stomach, so my manager ROS’d (release of service) me so I could sleep. I called in Wednesday and took it easy, went in Thursday and was ER’d before the Harry Potter marathon with Katherine and Emma (which was EPIC), and my lovely lovely managers gave me an ADO (authorized day off) for the Friday so I could rest up, which they didn’t have to, but the great thing about being here is that your managers are your friends, they look after you. A few of the ones we have are like surrogate parents for the year...A-MAZ-ING. So again I rested, hung out with Riyad and Alex, brought some food, had a starbucks, but the pain had spread to my back, so I thought it was from carrying the shopping home...had an early night, but then woke Saturday in more pain than I thought possible, so off to centracare I went.... bracing myself for the bill.
Centracare were amazing. The staff were so helpful, even when my insurers were being arseholes and refusing to pay up front... the doctor knew that they weren’t being very compliant and that I had to pay it, so rather than charging me $365 for seeing her, the tests they did and antibitoics, she gave me the tests and antibiotics for free, and only charged me $95 to see her. I could have hugged her! It was such a relief.

So now, like 4 days later I’m still sick, still off work, still got Kidney pain just waiting for these antibiotics to kick in. My friends have been unbelievable, however down you might get here there is always someone there to pick you back up <3. Yesterday morning my friend Katherine showed up with a care package, with orange juice, gatorade, milk duds, a GALAXY and apples! It was so kind of her. I've had friends renting movies and coming over so I'm not on my own. People are awesome.

INDEPENDENCE WEEKEND 2011

INDEPENDENCE WEEKEND JULY 2011...
Was crazy!!! Started with Friday night... my absolute favourite night out since I’ve been here handsdown... a small group of us merchies went out in Downtown Orlando to an 80’s night they have there... I have never ever danced like I did! We were there for like 2 hours and each song was AMAZING! It was like a proper night out at home, no drama, and just loving life with friends! There was a photobooth, which is obvs one of my favourite things in life... although I am yet to see the photos which were taken.... we ended up leaving around 2am, all rather tipsy and really really not wanting to go!

Saturday I had an amazing shift at work, I was incredibly hungover but also incredibly happy... I was also lucky with where I was....kidcot... my entire shift, before my ER aound 8pm!! Headed to Cowboys for ALOT of drinking and dancing... the hangover on Sunday was not a nice one at all... I believe I was still drunk well into the evening...

So the best thing about this weekend? THE FIREWORKS.... oH mY GoSH!! I am going to be such a fireworks snob by the time this year is out.... Disney sure know how to put on a good show!! Much like the New Year’s fireworks Disney preview their big events at MK the night before, so me and Emma headed to Polynesian Beach to watch their 4th July... it was amazing... the atmosphere, the music and the fireworks themselves... there were spirally ones, loud ones and of course stars in red, white and blue.. it was just unbelievable, and watching them on the beach is always magical... I then hung out there with Emma for a while looking for satellites and just relaxing on the beach... was a great start to our weekend.

Independence Day itself was a blur of stupid photos, dancing, and LOUD NOISES... We hung out for most of the day in the UK pav, just spending time with the guys who were working... I did discover that I can get into a child’s alice dress.... great feeling!! The night ended with Epcot’s 4th July fireworks, and Hollywood Studios which we could see from Worldshowcase, they were again outstanding, and the finale of them made your ribcage feel like it was about to EXPLODE!!

last week....

Ohana... means family....
This has been all over facebook recently, with disney peole calling their friends family, and this week I totally understand. My friends are AWESOME!! This week has been wonderful in a strange way...
I went to Mr. Sister's on Saturday night with some of UK merch, it was a fab night, full of stupid dancing, songs, shows and stealing balloons and centre pieces... no drama, exciting times with friends!!! Sunday began with the worst hangover and then downtown disney  with Emma and Robin, had a lovely dinner and then went to see Yellowcard at HOB, they were amazing!!!!! I had such a great time, they were great live, I had a few cheeky drinks thanks to Emma and Robin and then headed home, where I continued the drinking!

Monday, finally hung out with Ashley... went to Universal, went on Rip Ride again,  held Emma's  hand the entire way, again! I LOVED IT. Then, obvs we headed to TWWOHP for a cheeky butterbeer... yummy.... totally got distracted right here and stopped writing for like a week....
The week itself was the home for ER’s, think I actually ER’d every day... yesss! I just wasn’t feeling the work side of life here last week, I hung out with my friends alot, and drank ALOT... was nice just to hang out....

feeling hot hot HOT!!

Flo-ri-da is HAWTTTTTTTT!! ohmigosh it is toasty down here at the moment! Yesterday it was 97degrees but felt more like 108 with the humidity... rather warm!! The past two weeks have been... interesting. I had three days in which I called in sick and beforehand was ROS'd from work twice due to being sick... I had flu with a chest infection and low blood pressure.... never fun. So I had a few days off to rest and recuperate... two of the most boring and long days of my program so far!! Although I needed rest it is never a good thing when you have too much going on in your head!

My days off that week were fun, I had one which was spent at Seaworld (of course) I finally saw the new Shamu show, One Ocean... it was gorgeous! Yet another soundtrack I need to buy!! I spent a fair few hours at manatee rescue just sitting, watching and thinking... definatly my relaxing place here in Orlando!! I got to hang out with Jen which was lovely as we rarely get days off together!!

I also went to see another Ray's game at Tropicana Park... yet again they won, this time against the Boston Red Sox. I had alot of fun and I cannot wait to go to another game!! I love it so so much, the atmosphere, the game itself and the excitement of being at a sporting event... it is definatly a feeling you can't beat!! Hoping to go with my brother when he is here visiting in August!!

I had my lasses t-shirt name given Monday night, lasses is a weekly event taking place on Happy Monday's in which the UK girls get together, play a few games and have a giggle before heading to a venue in Orlando to meet the boys from another country... my shirt name is "Gluten free submarine" because I am gluten free (obvs) and because I love the beatles (lol). It could have been alot worse....
Am having two relaxing days off now consisting of sleeping, shopping, sunbathing and eating... pretty perfect if you ask me!!

we love weekends at Disney

Trying to be more up to date...
These last few days have been AMAZING!! I've hung out with some amazing friends and made some great memories!! Friday I worked (12-6), it was an uneventful day at work and I managed to get an ER for 3.30 which was lush, I had some plans which fell through so ended up hanging out with Leah which I was greatful for as she finishes her program soon :(. Had a lovely girlie night, with a proper homecooked meal, wine, and girlie movies!! Sometime's its a godsend here to have friends you feel totally comfortable with and can just veg out!! After Leah left I was alittle merry, so headed over to see AJ & Euan's new flat, which is lush, and dance around to some Chezza!

Saturday was soooooooo much fun!! Finally AJ & I had a day off together... always promises good things!! The day started with the most amazing care package from home, something which always puts a smile on my face... I have wispas, galaxy's, percy pigs, haribo and morrisons own hard boiled!! I then headed to Epcot to meet the boyo, then to MK for gayday!! We also met up with my friend Ashley from West Palm and Alex from Norway (to celebrate our 6 months). So after splash mountain, thunder mountain, space mountain, meeting the princesses then meeting mickey and minnie we all headed home and had a few cheeky drinks.
Sunday was amazing, not only was it my FRIDAY but my shift was.... sports -> kidcot -> break -> kidcot -> tasking -> home. Monday was Blizzard Beach, and 7 hours spent crisping with Katherine, and putting all our and the worlds problems to rights.... Today I have been to Seaworld, applied for jobs and had a bit of 'me' time drinking wine, eating chocolate and watching girlie films.... all in all an amazing few days... here's hoping the next few are just as much fun :)

6 months?! geez

Wow, okay so I haven't updated this since week one... that sucks, how am I going to remember all the dumb shit that we've done in these past 6 months in 10 or so years time? Ok so WOW, where to begin.... I am in the disney bubble. To the guys at home I am so sorry I suck at keeping in touch, I can't even begin to explain the way things are here unless you experience it. It. sucks. you. innnn!!
The past 6 months have had been some of the best and some of the worse of my life. I am now living in a one bed with Emma, which we waited 4 months for on the housing list... I love living with her, its crazy and insane but it's so good to know that even if you need a chat at 4 in the morning there is someone there for you.... that's a very useful thing here!! Work is the same as always, hated it back there for a few weeks - too much bitching and drama for me, but I guess thats what happens when you live/work and some people sleep together!! It has gotten better in the past few days, just need to keep a clear head and try not to be so sensitive/over-think things.

So, things I want to make sure that I remember if I stumble across this again? I'd say the top moments so far....
  • First every wishes... it was just incredible. We headed to MK after Traditions and went to Mickey's Philharmagic... not so hilarious moment when the mops came on and my clearly deep rooted fear of them was exposed... scary AS! But then we went to see wishes and it was a major 'omg I'm here moment'.
  • Emma's 25th birthday.... and St Patrick's Day all in one.... we stayed at AK Lodge which was frigging fantastic (the most comfortable bed of my life - kinda wasted on my drunken arse), then we headed to Epcot to DATW (Drink around the world)... it was intense... lets put it that way, then to Jellyrolls (an awesome Dueling Piano Bar at the Boardwalk) which again, was wasted on my sorry drunken arse.
  • Universal Studios for Madri Gras with AJ and Rufus... just so so much fun, I don't think I have laughed so much in my life, it was just a perfect perfect day!
  • Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground for Riyad's birthday... a random spontaneous resort stay, resulting in midnight swims, pargos, playground's and birthday cake.
  • Tampa Bay Rays v. New York Yankees... one down of my list, loved the game, loved the atmosphere and just had a really nice time!
  • Homossassa Springs... was just AMAZING. Totally amazing to be there, especially with mum & dad. Crystal River was gorgeous. Roadtripping from Florida's coast to coast was them was incredible and just exploring different places with them.
  • My Living Sea's Backstage Tour. INCREDIBLE. I learnt so much!
  • Getting drunk with AJ from the backstreet boys, him giving me money to get home, teaching me magic tricks and doing shots at the bar.... hilarious evening.

So that is a quick quick roundup of the things I REALLY don't want to forget... I have also got so much amazing things planned for the next few weeks that time is going to fly... it's freaking me out alittle!! I am hopefully going to S. Carolina for a weekend soon, so hopefully hopefully can try to visit Charleston if I go, also am heading to West Palm Beach for a weekend with a friend, and then in Sept the parental's are coming out again so we are hitting Washington D.C/NYC and Boston, so that is helping to sort out my travelling bug!!
I'll try update sooner than 6 months... but we will see, haha!! Back to the bubble I go!

1 week in!

Hey everyone!!

Okay I have been rubbish with updating, so I'm going to try and remember this past week now! The flight over was fine, we were 50 minutes late but thats nothing compared to the cancelled one the day before!! I met Emma and Sabrina at the airport and we all hung out! landed into orlando then headed straight for dinner!! went to a bar called UNO Chicago which had an entire gluten free menu, was gorgeous! Then sunday we headed to seaworld!!

Seaworld <3! Loved it, such a fab day!! We saw the manatees (of course!) watched the Believe show, won a penguin each, and just hung out! Was really good fun with everyone!! Sunday evening we headed out again for some food, and just fun times!!

Monday, was hilarious!! We decided to go to florida mall, which is just fantastic! Spent a bit to much money, but my favourite shop had 30% off the sale price, so got some gorgeous tops for like $7!! We then went home to meet Emily and Anna who had just landed from the UK! And headed for dinner at a random irish bar, the Tilted Kilt. So we ate then everyone left as the girls were tired, and the others had to get home. FUNNIEST. NIGHT. EVER!! We ended up, me Arran, Emma and Sabrina sitting at the bar for about 6 hours, just chatting and having a giggle!! It was so so funny!! I don't even remember the crap we were coming out with, but I know it was amazing!!!

Tuesday - moved into housing!

Since then things have been crazy and I haven't updated in the longest of time! I have had my merchandise training and am now in rotation! It is pretty simple, the biggest issue is remembering all of the different discount cards, and what to do if something goes wrong - but that is something which will come with time! Everyone is lovely, and there have been some amazing nights out... with not so amazing days afterwards!! I had my throw in to the UK pavilion which was really good fun!! Just if your coming out make sure you bring around $10 with you incase everyone goes to IHOP after!! I have just had social security which is a killer, so am going to head to bed for a few hours of sleep, then head off to work later on for a close!!!

Lovesss <3 xx
